DFN Project SEARCH is a transition programme which provides employability training and education for individuals with disabilities. The programme promotes collaborative and partnership working amongst partners and occurs on-site at a business which has the commitment to support people with learning disabilities and/or autism in the workplace. With on-site support from the job coach and instructors total workplace immersion facilitates a seamless combination of classroom instruction, career exploration, and hands-on training through three worksite rotations.
The goal for each programme participant is to achieve competitive and sustainable employment. To reach that goal, the programme provides real-life work experience combined with training in employability and independent-living skills to help interns make successful transitions to productive adult life.
