On Friday 15th of May, Team Hand in Hand held their first ever virtual family bingo night on Zoom.
Hand in Hand Juniors and Hand in Hand Seniors came together for one large night of virtual fun!
There were 21 people in attendance, 4 of which were the Hand In Hand youth workers and everyone else were the young people. This number doesn’t include all the families in the background joining in on all the fun!
Two rounds were held, a number bingo and a music bingo, there were lots of prizes to be won for both rounds and spot prizes for the most enthusiastic dancers.
A quote from a young person said “ It was super fun and nice to meet some of the younger group.”
Due to current circumstances around the world we haven’t been able to come together as a group for a while now but as we get used to working virtually we are hoping to provide as much fun as possible for our young people at home!
Every Friday Lauren and Rachael hold a virtual quiz for the young people to attend but this was our first large virtual event and it was a success!
A parent of a young person said “We had a great giggle on Friday night and look forward to the next one”
The great response from both the young people and their families has encouraged us to hold more larger scale virtual events as well as our weekly quizzes. The next one is going to be a virtual sing a long night.
Another young person said “ Sometimes crazy is a mess. Sometimes crazy is the best.”
It was crazy, but it was a huge success especially since it was all online, everyone got involved as much as they could and despite it just being bingo, by the end of the event everyone was singing and dancing along to the music that was being played.
All prizes were delivered adhering to social distancing policy only a couple of days after the event to make sure everyone got what they won!
