Girvan Youth Trust (GYT) is a not-for-profit charitable organisation based in Girvan, South Ayrshire. Our primary aim is to engage with local young people with a view to supporting them to make positive and healthy life choices in all areas of their lives.
GYT own and run Z1 Youth Bar, a state of the art, multi-functional, dedicated youth centre which is located at 154 Dalrymple Street in the town. The Youth Bar is disabled accessible non-alcoholic bar, fully equipped with IT suite, Arts & Crafts Suite, Functional Stage Area and Outdoor Area. Most of our weekly activities take place within Z1 as it is a safe, familiar and friendly environment for the young people.
Our project has a dedicated team of youth workers, volunteers and trustees who live and work in the community, and have the young people’s best interests at heart. Sunday saw the ‘Spectacular Season Finale’ of this year’s Music on the Prom 11 week programme. We kicked off the season with ‘Scotland Rocks’ back in June and our ‘Finale’ saw us finish with BOTH ‘Men of Motown’ and ‘Simply Rod’ a Tribute by James Frew.Read More
